Here's some FAQ on the e-coupons

Cellfire, Shortcuts & P&G eSAVER are 3 companies that have coupons you can load on to your club card! GREAT ways to get more savings because you can use these “e-coupons” WITH mfg or IP coupons AND a doubler!! WOO-HOO! Some of these even duplicate! For example, Cellfire might have a $.50/1 Betty Crocker frosting coupon & Shortcuts.com might also have a $.50/1 coupon for the same item. If you also have a $.50 mfg & use a $.50 double, you already have $2 off the price of a tub of frosting!! Best part is, you can get the overage! Example of overage is if the tub of frosting only costs $1.50, you’ll be able to use the FULL $2 in savings on it & then will be able to apply the $.50 “overage” to the rest of your shopping order! Great way to get things you need (milk, eggs, meat, produce, etc.) that you might not have coupons for at a discounted price!!

Rite Aid 7/5 - 7/11

First time listing deals for Rite Aid since I just started shopping there. Don’t know why I waited so long! They have SOME awesome deals on things I need.

Here’s a $5/$25 coupon that is good thru the end of July. It doesn’t state on the coupon that it is AFTER mfg coupons, so get your total over $25, use mfg coupons to get it lower & then this coupon to get your total even lower!

A few things about Rite Aid:

1) You can use a mfg coupon WITH a Rite Aid coupon. Example: They have a $4 RA (Rite Aid) Zyrtec coupon that can be used WITH the $4 Zyrtec mfg coupon to give you $8 savings.

2) They have a Single Check Rebate (SCR) system. You can use multiple receipts (unless stated otherwise on the rebate) to meet the criteria & just submit them on-line. SUPER easy & a great way to use coupons with a rebate to maximize your savings! Some of their rebates double/triple dip! For example, Huggies diapers/pull-ups do this month! There is a rebate for buy 5 packs get 1 free & another rebate for a $25 gc wyb $50 worth of Kimberly Clark items (Huggies is one of their products!). So here’s a deal I’ve been doing to get cheap Pull-Ups:

Walgreens 6/22 - 6/27

I haven't really done a lot of Walgreens deals, but thought I'd start doing them since there are some GREAT deals to be had. They have a program (right now anyway...heard a rumor that it will be replaced possibly in July by something else) where you get a RR (Register Reward...like a catalina except Walgreens calls it this!) wyb a specific item. There are a few "rules" you need to know:

1) You can only earn ONE RR per item, per transaction. (Ex: If you bought 2 Aquafresh in one transaction, you will only receive ONE $3RR. BUT, you can purchase different items that produce RR's. I've been buying Aquafresh & Zyrtec & have been receiving a $3RR Aquafresh AND a $5RR Zyrtec)

2) You can't use the RR you earned to purchase the same item because your new RR won't print. (Ex: Aquafresh is $3 this week & has a $3RR wyb it. If you use your $3RR from Aquafresh to purchase more Aquafresh, the $3RR won't print out. BUT, you could use your $3RR Aquafresh to purchase something else that produces a RR...like the Zyrtec.)

3) The amount of manufacturers coupons & RR's can NOT be greater than the amount of items you have. (Ex: If you have 4 items & have a mfg coupon for each item & you also want to use a RR , you'd have to add a cheap "filler" to your transaction so the RR can "attach" to that item. I generally buy something small...right now, the little Johnson & Johnson Baby powders are $1.29 or $2 wyb 2 (must buy 2 for that price!) and are producing a $1RR...great way to use a "filler" and also earn most of your money back! OR, if you have 4 items & have 3 mfg & 1RR, you would not need a "filler" since your coupon total matches the total number of items you have...make sense??)

4) They generally expire 2 weeks from the date you earn them. Each week they have something that will produce a RR, so I generally "roll" my RR's to other items...making sure the item I'm buying with a RR is not from the same manufacturer that produced the RR.

Tip of the Day #1:

Sometimes you need to buy things you DON’T need, to get deals on the items you DO need or don’t have coupons for (like fresh produce/meat/etc.)!

Seems a little crazy to buy something you can’t/don’t use, BUT what if it will get you something you CAN use?? I finally figured this out. It took me awhile to realize that ALL the coupons in the inserts have a purpose! Even if it is something you don’t use AT ALL, you can maybe use it to help get your cost down on something you DO use. Here’s a recent example…

A few weeks ago, Albertsons had a deal where if you bought $30 worth of certain items, you would get a coupon good for $10 OYNO. Well, the OneTouch Ultra Mini glucose monitor (on sale for $19.99) was included as well as Visine eye drops (on sale for $3.99). There was a coupon not too long ago for up to $20 off this OneTouch monitor and a $3 Visine coupon! So, here is what I did:

$19.99 – OneTouch monitor
$11.97 – 3 Visine eye drops
= $31.96 TOTAL

Then, I used the following coupons:
-$19.99 (OneTouch monitor)
-$9.00 (3-$3/1 Visine)
OOP $2.97 & I got back a $10 OYNO Catalina coupon!!

So, this just gave me a PROFIT of $7.03!!

Now, I can use that $10 OYNO (essentially, free money!) to buy anything I might need at Albertsons…fresh produce, meat, cheese, dairy…the possibilities are ENDLESS!). I’m on a trading board where we swap coupons we don’t need for ones we do & sometimes I even purchase coupons on Ebay. I did that for this deal. I ended up doing this deal 7 times, so I have $70 to use over the next 2 weeks! OK…it might seem a little excessive, but just think…I spent $20.79 OOP & will have $70! Not too bad.

With the economy the way it is, what better time than now to start saving money, right? And using coupons with sale items is a GREAT way to start! Most coupons can be found in the Sunday paper, but there are TONS of other great coupons on the Internet. You need to download a program on to your computer so that the bar-code can print correctly & scan correctly at the store, but after that, the savings are ENDLESS.

You can generally print 2 coupons PER computer. After the coupon prints, just hit your back button a few times & another one will print. Each coupon will have a unique code printed under the expiration date. So, if you have more than one computer at home, that will increase the number of coupons you can print. Here is a list of websites that frequently change the coupons they have:

***Word of caution…if you think you *might* use a certain coupon; print it because they might be gone when you want it. Generally, the expiration date on the printed coupons will be one month from the date you print them.
