Pink Friday Show and Tell!

Whoo Hooo! Pink Friday, here we come!

As you can see from our last post, we are excited about a new promotion at Make Mine Pink called Pink Friday. Tonight while my husband was in remote heaven watching everything all at once on the TV (why do men feel the need to do that???)I whipped out a new Flea Market Basket for the big kick off sale! I choose a piece of beautiful Amy Butler Nigella Petal Pink Imperial Fans for my front panel. I just lover her retro chic fabrics! I've added trim, a tassel and re purposed a purse charm from a pink crystal garland. I think it's really fun and girly...perfect for your trip to the flea or farmers market!

We are so excited to get this Pink Friday ball rolling! Be sure and check out all the details below or at Make Mine Pink. Watch our site Forget Me Not Dreams throughout the week for more great Pink Friday additions! Then be the first to grab em fast, first thing Friday morning! Don't miss it, this one is going to be a blast!

Show And Tell For Monday

Well now, isn't this a wonderment? We arrived home from visiting our son and his wife for 5 days and found that our master bath toilet had been leaking.... down the walls, through the dining room ceiling, onto the dining room table and finally onto the hardwood floor. The demolition started last Thursday, repair and reconstruction today. Our 26 year old home is biting the dust... and our bank account.

Watch for new projects to come in future postings!

Flowers Are A Mother's Day Gift

Don't we all love the gift of flowers for Mother's Day? I remember the simple little bouquets that my sons would tenderly pick and bring to me. Usually wrapped in some kind of wadded up paper, not flowers really , but blooming weeds that we would carefully place into a pretty vase with water. A card would come with the gift. Inside, crayon drawings of the family doing things together with lots of XXXs and OOOs at the bottom. These were the bouquets that I treasured the most. Happy Mother's Day!
Then, with age and more earning power, came the more elaborate flower displays. (Only Eileen can make wonders like this table piece for my youngest son's wedding !) The bouquets came in their own vase, delivered by a stranger sent from the boys who lived far from home. Still the child's message was there, "I love you, Mom". "We miss you, Mom". They would always call to chat and send their love again. The flowers were rotated to different rooms so I could feel their hugs wherever I was in the big, quiet house. Happy Mother's Day!
Following a long cold winter, Mother Nature or a loving God sends a happy greeting and promise of sunshine and warmth to come. The gift of flowers. Colors finally spring from the damp and faded ground, new birth, new life, new joy. Yellow, purple, pinks and red, so beautiful and uplifting. My heart always soars! The dark days of clouds and rain may come to an end. Break out the lighter jackets! Start planting more colors! God is good! Happy Mother's Day!
