Let's Eat Cake...Yum!

As part of the Mother’s Day Garden Party, the ladies at Make Mine Pink are sponsoring a Recipe Exchange today! In honor of my Mom, I wanted to share one of her recipes. When you look at the title, you will probably have the same reaction I had as a kid…. A cake made with MAYONNAISE??? At first, I refused to try it. How could anything yummy be made with mayonnaise? But the rich chocolaty goodness won out and soon I was eating and enjoying every yummy, moist, delicious bite. The mayonnaise is the secret to the moistness! Try it, you’ll be hooked too, and it will be fun to tell your family and friends the delicious cake they just ate is made with MAYONNAISE! Enjoy!

Mayonnaise Cake

2 Cups Flour 1 Cup Mayonnaise
1 Cup Sugar 1 Cup Water
2 tsp Soda 1 tsp Vanilla
½ Cup Cocoa ¼ tsp Salt

Mix dry ingredients together and add both wet ingredients, mixing until there are no lumps remaining. Bake in a greased cake pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Easy!

It's Show and Tell Monday again!

How can one week possibly go by so quickly? It's Show and Tell Monday once again! This is a great idea started by Kathleen at Set To A Tea. It's so fun to share what we have been working on this week and see the other great projects in the works of all our other friends at Make Mine Pink! If you interested in showing what you've been up to, or what projects you are working on, jump in and join the fun! Just post a comment with your link so we can take a look!

Besides our online business, we also manage Estate liquidations, so we spent the week preparing for an estate sale. As you can see from the photo's, there were some lovely things. As I was processing the cedar chest(which was full of wonderful vintage clothes) I came across this little pocket photo. It was in a small tooled leather case with a hook type closure. Inside, you can see the beautiful tooled gold filigree around the photo. This was not just a photo under glass though. It looked like it was layered or 3d with coloring added. I did allot of research trying to find out what kind of process was used, but I couldn't find anything. So if you have any idea, be sure and let us know. I am glad the family ended up with them, as I am sure they are a treasured heirloom!

We have a new contest starting on MMP and will be posting that soon, so check back for details! Blessings to you!

Show And Tell Monday

It's Show and Tell Monday!

One of the ladies at Make Mine Pink challenged all of us members to post some pics of our projects we currently have in progress. What a great idea! I have had such fun working on some new tote designs. Our Vintage Hankie totes have been so popular. We thought it was time to try some of our ideas in some different fabrics. There are such wonderful fabrics available now, and I just love the Amy Butler line! So here are some pics of the the ideas I am playing around with right now. I'm really excited about this line. We try to use re purposed items like buckles, jewelry and findings on them, and our straw tote is Eco friendly too. It makes me feel good to be helping the environment in some small way. I should have them done within the week, so keep an eye out for them on our site...www.forgetmenotdreams.com Tote designs are exclusive originals of Forget Me Not Dreams, and are not available for reproductions at this time.

Isn't this the yummiest pink fabric!

Recycled Buckles and bangles will be a big part of our new line.

We're trying some new shapes and embellishments too!
