Mothering Charms
With the beautiful birth of a child,
a part of the soul too is born.
A part that for years has been hidden,
untouched, un-nourished, not worn.
It's the part that can comfort a child,
who cries out in the wee of the night.
The part who says, "how I love you",
who longs to teach wrong from right.
The amazing thing is it's suddenly there
when your first child is placed in your arms.
How grateful I am for a Mother who cared,
and taught me her Mothering charms.

My first grandchild was born the day before my birthday, July 29. I know EXACTLY how you're feeling right now.
